NIKKA's SHIMLA TRIP July 2018
MY SHIMLA TRIP
After reading about Reserve Sancutray near Shimla I with my grandparents decided to go to Shimla.
18 July .We took a cab to Delhi Junction from where we took nigt train from Delhi Jn. The train journey was good .

19 July. We reached Kalka in the morning and changed to Tourist Train for Shimla

The train was a small train on narrow guage and had big windows to see the beautiful hills as we climbed to Shimla.

We reached Shimla at 10.30 AM and took a cab to our Resort.
Koti Resort was a very nice Resort with lot of flowers and a apple garden along the wall. We refreshed ourselves and then had Lunch.
After Lunch we went for a walk . We enjoyed the walk along the hills , full of pine trees and I saw many birds as we walked . We came back as it started drizlling.
After evening tea we went for another walk , this time on a walkable track. I came to know that there were wild animals in the jungle we were walking. One lady told us that a Panther had come to her house at night. It was getting dark , thus we came back to our resort..
20 July. On second day we went walking up the hill to Govt Apple Research Center. It was a nice walk but climb was steep at places and we used to rest and watch birds.
The Apple Research Centre was good. It had a good lawn and many apple trees full of apples. It became very cloudy and we could not see the Valley from the top of the hill . After our tour of Apple research Centre we took a track down hill to our resort. The track was very nice with very good views and many birds to watch.

In the evening we went for another walk. This time I went to apple Orchid as well.

On 21 July. We took a taxi and went to Chail palace. The journey of about 2 hours through the hills was very nice. The palace was not very well maintained and it was not fully open to public.

We then drove to a Temple on Hill top,. We stopped the taxi short of Temple and walked to temple. On return I took a walking track and came through jungle .
It was a nice walk.

We returned back to palace and then took another walk in the palace woods.

We started our journey back and halted for Lunch enroute. I then visited the Zoo. The zoo had collection of many animals including some good hill animals, like bear, panther, and Birds.
On way back had fun with the Yak.
22 July. On last day we took a taxi and drove to Kalka for about 4 hours. We took a train to New Delhi and reached home late at night.
