                                Jaisalmer Trip

Had a short 4 days trip from Gurgaon to Jaiselmer from 29 sep to 02 Oct 2017.

29th Sep.

We took the Flight  at 12.20 AM from Delhi to Jodhpur. We Arrived at Jodhpur at 14.20 , it was delayed landing. The Taxi was there and we started for Jaiselmer.

We had a halt near Dechu for Tea and then proceeded to  Ramdevra Temple . Reached the Temple at 6 PM.

This majestic shrine of Shri Ramdev is 13 kms from Pokhran.The temple was built by Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner in 1931 to pay homage to Baba Ramdevji.

According to the legend, in the year 1442, Shri Ramdevji took samadhi at this place at the age of 33. But before that he lived his entire life working for the betterment of the underprivileged people.

Hindus believed that he is an incarnation of Lord Krishna, while Muslims respect him as Ramshah Pir.

After the visit to Temple started for Jaiselmer. We reached at 8.30PM and checked in to Rang Mahal Hotel.

The Hotel is very good Four Star hotel with very good Room. The  Breakfast. Had a good spread.

30th Sep.

After breakfast at hotel and went to see Gadisagar Lake. Stayed there for 20 Mins.

Then  moved to see the Fort. The Fort is Nice and should see Jain Temples  and the Palaces of King and Queen.

There after we went to see Diwan Ji Haweli and Patwa Haveli. Dewan ji Haveli is still occupied by its residents. You can admire the façade of the Haveli.

Patwa Haveli also has a very nice façade and you can visit inside as it is converted to a Museam.

 In the evening went to see Bada Bagh which is a place where Royalty got its cremations and they constructed  the Chattries.

Overnight at Hotel 

Day 03: 1st Oct.

After breakfast we checked out hotel at 12.00 PM and went to see Tanot Temple which is 120Km from City. The journey was on a good road . We reached the Temple at 2.00 PM.

Tannot Mata as per the literature is new clone of divine goddess Hingla Mata, and there after Tannot Mata becomes Karni Mata, And known as Goddess Of Charan's. Tannot Basically The village is close to the border with Pakistan, It is said that during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, Pakistani Army dropped over 3000 bombs targeting the temple but not even one exploded! The Pakistani Tank regiment was stupefied and kept shelling but not one bomb exploded.

 After  visiting he Temple we drove to Prince Desert Resort.

The Resort is about 45 km from Jaiselmer near the City of Sam. It is near a Sand Dune to see sun set and take a small Camel Ride of 15 Mins.

In the evening at 7.30 is local singing and dancing by a small troupe. The Dinner was served at 9.00PM.

The Tent accommodation, Food and evening entertainment pogramme can be skipped. The Dinner was not very good and it is better to go back to Hotel to sleep.

Day 4:  Departure 2nd Oct.

After breakfast we checked out from Desert Camp at 07.00 AM and drove to Jodhpur for our Flat at 02.40 for home.
